Washington, District of Columbia, United States(Hexa PR Wire–August 16, 2023)–Romacorp Inc., the parent entity for Tony Roma’s, Tony Roma’s Legendary Grill, and Tony Roma’s Bones & Burgers, has formally appointed Mohaimina ‘Mina’ Haque as its interim CEO. Previously serving as the company’s outside general counsel, Haque will take over the leadership role from ex-CEO Ramon Bourgeois.
As the founder of The Law Office of Mohaimina Haque, PLLC, Mina has worked with Romacorp as a legal counsel over the past two years, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the company’s internal mechanisms.
On her new role, Haque noted, “My time as a legal advisor for Romacorp has equipped me with a unique perspective that I’m eager to bring to this leadership role, with an emphasis on future innovation and expansion.”
Haque’s expertise is grounded in business and franchise law, catering to a diverse range of clients from sectors such as food and beverage, financial services, and luxury brands.
In her capacity as CEO, Haque aims to enhance Romacorp’s global footprint, appealing to a broader customer demographic. She will also be actively involved in guiding the company’s environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) initiatives.
Highlighting her position and plans, Haque added, “This role presents an opportunity to align Romacorp’s longstanding commitment to quality with emerging market trends and operational strategies.”

Mina Haque, principal attorney at The Law Office of Mohaimina Haque, PLLC, has consistently represented clients in the District of Columbia Superior Court and the U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia. Her legal proficiency spans areas like business/corporate law, immigration, franchise, trademark, and employment law, among others.
Haque’s career has seen her collaborating with officials during her tenure at the Domestic Policy Council in the Executive Office of the President. Her prior experience includes roles in the U.S. Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, where she was recognized with the Assistant Attorney General’s Award for her contributions.
Alongside its core operations, Romacorp has unveiled the Tony Roma’s Foundation. This new initiative seeks collaboration with non-profits, directing efforts towards areas like disaster relief, child welfare, poverty alleviation, and addressing global health concerns.
Based in Orlando, Romacorp underwent an ownership transition when acquired by Equity Investors of New England Inc. in July 2021. The subsequent year saw the advent of Tony Roma’s Bones & Burgers, adding a fast-casual dining option to its established brand portfolio.
